Quick question: Can this quest be done by a non-crafter? In other words, my crafter would have a rough go of it trying to take down a rabbit. If this quest requires a lot of carnage to be dealt out, can it be done by one of my other toons, and then the items handed over to my crafter?

I'm not certain, I've not managed to do it yet as I've not long been back on and only just got my character sorted. 😅

The Spellcrafter items including the book are drops from the evil spellcrafters in the Spellcrafting Quest. It will take a Warrior, Tamer or Mage to slay them.
The evil spellcrafters can drop the Spellcrafting Book as well as the Spellcrafting jewels to add to the book. They can also drop the magic gems that charge the Spellcrafting Book.
Also . . if you visit Lord Hart (the King's Hand) in the Britain King's Castle, he can sell many hard to get items including the Spellcrafting jewels. If you get jewels you do not want you can sell them to NPC jewelers.
