This quest for Mages takes place on Tartarus. It is challenging but the rewards are great if you succeed. You may use a group to start this quest but will need to go solo to finish it.
In ancient times the ethereal and the land merged. The sky and the horizon were one. Mages ruled powerful realms or controlled those who did.
In that time the greatest sorcerer was Allanon who drew his power from a series of Grimoires. All of those tomes have been lost except for copies of one - the 'Medeis Incantatrix'. That tome reveals Words of Power that unleash ten forgotten spells.
To wield ancient power one must be legendary in the skill of Magery. Spirit Speaking helps. If you possess the book and the Chanting Stones you can speak the Words to invoke the spells. Some use more Stones and Mana than others. All magic casting monsters have a chance to drop the Chanting Stones.
If you seek the power of that tome then you are on a perilous path.
Begin on Tartarus in the mining passages that approach the ancient city of Zephyrus (People on Trammel know this area as 'Wind'). Talk to Corellon Larethian the elven alchemist. He has a home in those passageways.
Corellon will ask for your help and in return will give you information and a Portal to the Medeis Incantatrix.
There is a 12 hour Cool Down period.
