Questions on quests

If anyone out there can help me with these questions that would be great.

1 - Pans bard quest.  Do I just go in there and kill stuff hoping from a power scroll drop or am I supposed to do something specific?  The flute he gave me only had 3 charges, am I only getting special loot when I use that specific instrument to kill stuff or can I use my other gear / skills to get the power scrolls to drop?  I just want to understand the goal so I can give it another shot.

2 - Who do I talk to to start the Mercenary quest?  I would love to explore it myself, but would like to know the starting point.

You talk to pan and get the flute. As you know you have only 3 uses, with these you must use your gm skill either *peace, provoke, or discord* on three mobs at which chance you may or may not get a scroll or other item such as regs, candlewick, stardust etc.

1) Reuvas is correct. Talk to Pan to get one of his flutes. It has three uses. You can use the flute three times (to try Peacing, Provoking or Discording) the creatures there. Some may be harder than others. If you succeed you can get some interesting things and there is a chance for Powerscrolls to drop. If you get a Powerscroll it 'must' be used inside the Quest Area or i will disintegrate when you leave.

2) Details of the Quest 'Mercenary - Hym's Cave' are detailed in your blue Quest Journal and also on this Forum under the Board for Quests. To start the quest you must find the Quest Giver Goewin who is a farm wife living in one of the small farm buildings near the village of Yew.
