Just a quick question does anyone know how to gain from 100-120? I don't seem to be getting any gains from using the skill on an item..

Since Arms Lore is usually only 100 skill, if you got 120 PS and you want to train it 100-120 you either need to use skillballs (which is very expensive) or you can use Satyr Trick. If you don't know what Satyr Trick is, Google will answer you, it is quite popular method of training in Ultima =)
Since Satyrs are found only in Twisted Weald and i find this method very usefull not only for Arms Lore but for other skills as well, i'd like to suggest placing one Satyr at Arete for training purposes. Put him in a fence, like Beetles for Provocation training, just find him a good place where he won't distract players who don't want to (maybe a Gypsy camp, he could be in a cage... you know, gypsies like to have some animals in cages traveling with them..)

A special skill training Satyr was placed in a pen in the Arete Gypsy village (southeast corner of the island).
He can help you with the following:
Hiding, Peacemaking, ArmsLore, Lockpicking, Magery, Necromancy, Ninjitsu, Chivalry, Bushido
