First - Sorry about the server drop during the night. The reason is not obvious but we have the sleuths on it.
The server restart this morning opened the opportunity to add the following:
1) Some minor housekeeping.
2) The 'Guild War System' (a cross facet alternative to Factions) has been completed and added.
Under this system, Guild Wars can be set up to take place:
- in a dungeon setting, or
- in an open field setting, or
- unrestricted across all facets of the world (Never on Arete).
Guilds wishing to war with each other can obtain a 'War Stone' for their guild. The 'War Stone' does three things:
- it gives your members a War Cloak to be displayed during battle, and
- it counts the enemy bodies dropped on it, and
- it announces to the world how many enemy kills your guild has made.
If you are wearing your guild's War Cloak and you kill an enemy who wears an enemy War Cloak you will have an enemy Body drop in your pack and the enemy will lose their Cloak (no looting required).
Wearing a War Cloak while fighting is the only way to obtain an enemy Body. If the War Cloak is lost, you must return to your War Stone to get another. This will take you out of action until you get one and return.
If you have enemy Bodies in your pack they are blessed but they will also decay in a couple of days. Take the Bodies you have won and Drop them on your War Stone to be counted and announced. The War Stone will keep a running tally during the period the war lasts.
If you have any enemy Bodies in your backpack and are killed . . you will lose one of the Bodies you collected.
At the end of the War the guild with the highest Body counts on its War Stone is the winner.
NOTE: For the best all round result - Guild leaders/councils should predetermine the Rules of Engagement for wars. There is no limit to what may be decided but things like Duration, Looting, Facets/Regions would be helpful. Guilds can negotiate with staff regarding prizes and assistance.
Waring anywhere on the Isle of Arete is Prohibited! - Please observe this request.
