I have tried the tailoring quest twice and each time I get 5 cloth to make a tunic that takes 12 cloth. Am I missing something? There are only 5 sheep to sheer and they disappear before you can wait for them to be sheered again. I can't save up the cloth because it disappears when I leave the area. I don't want to repeat the quest again until I know what I'm doing wrong because I'm just wasting my time.

Yes. I spin the wool on the spinning wheel and then use the yarn on the loom to make a bolt of cloth. Then, I use the scissors provided to cut the bolt into fabric. I then have 5 yards of fabric to make a tunic that takes 12 yards. I tried making it anyway and it says that I don't have enough cloth.

One bolt of regular cloth gives you 50 cut cloth.

It seems that 5 regular wool gives 15 wool yarn that turns into 3 bolts of cloth and then 150 cut cloth. So, since 5 golden wool gives 5 wool yarn and one bolt of cloth. It seems the one bolt of cloth should give something like 16 cut cloth to use for the tunic that takes 12 cut cloth. Which would give one chance to make it exception per try. Has anyone else completed this quest?

You go back to the docks in Skara Brae and cross the water to the other side on the "I wish to cross" boats. Once you are on the main land, head south to a fenced in area that he is tending his flock.
