The little houses that can be rented around the 'Player Vendor Market' on the Isle of Arete are intended to be used by players as vendor shops (not simple houses).
We appreciate it takes some time to get things ready to stock vendors so some delay is understandable. However . . we now find that all eleven of the little houses are rented out and only four have any vendors. It would be appreciated if all tenants in these special houses would set up their vendors or move out making them available to someone who will.
There are also spaces for player vendors in the Market's Central Square. If any one wants a space there - You need staff help to set those up so just send a PM.
Many Thanks

Odd.. First I heard about that rule. I'll have to think about it. Thanks for the heads up. When we first opened admin 'Gwen' was in charge of Arete. The concept of restricting the little houses around the Player market to use by players for shops did make sense. It supported and complimented the 'Market' atmosphere. For that reason I agreed and this was posted by Gwen mid February as a 'Rule' (see Shard Rules - Housing). Silly me - I assumed Gwen was also making this known to the tenants. Well several have rented there since Gwen's departure so unless they read the housing rule (which strictly they should) they would be in the dark. With the population still low, this is not a crucial thing but if we start running +50 people at a time in game then having a strong viable player market area becomes a real bonus for the community. For now . . I am not pushing hard on this one way or the other. I appreciate the caliber of people we have here and am open to suggestions.

I think it is a great area for new players to start out but as a market area also is a great idea and probably makes more sense with the limited space. You can always make cheap rental properties in areas you would like to see more activity like Trinsic or Vesper, for new players to settle in.
Market place in Arete sound like a good idea to me... maybe not for me though. *Grins*
Thanks again.
