Thought I'd open a thread about mining.

Having done a lot of mining on Europa (5x gm miners), I feel mining here is.....not so rewarding for the time spent.

I remember when mining you'd get all large ore until the last 1-3 before the spot was empty. Here it's random.

I also remember coloured spots were 9 times out of 10 mostly coloured ore, some had virtually no iron. Here they all seem 50%-70% iron.

Your thoughts?

I had different experiences on other shards where colored ore was rare and only 1/3 of the spot if that. The rest was regular.

I guess it all depends on your point of view. I'm quite satisfied with the ore that I dig up. I do think that I need to run back to town too often though to drop off the metal but if I were to tame a second mule/donkey/etc.. this might change.

The ore here is pretty much similar to the many other shards I have played. Biggest exception is the smaller pieces that I introduced which actually give you an advantage when smelting for skill gain.

Yesterday I placed a lot of Forges throughout the world in the areas where people might mine. You may still find a pack mule handy and you may have to look for the forges but you should not have to run too too many screens (or all the way back to town).
