Hi Need a little help with a couple of quests. Don't want a walk through, just some pointers.
The Thief Quest. Found Fingers and give him the required items and received the sextant. Now what? Just keep riding around til something happens? It says the sextant will let me know when I'm close to something I can steal. How will it do this? The first time I got the sextant I clicked it a few times and it changed green to red a few times then vanished. Now I've left it green in my backpack. So....Where to expect...erm.... something? Been around a few towns and nothing. Remember something about stealing can be done in towns in Fel but here I have no ideas....All in dungeons? Also will lockpicking be needed? disarm traps?
The Archeology Quest. Found his book, learned Archeology and have the tool. Tried at East Brit ruins, can't dig here. Tried in mines, caves, graveyards and a coupe of other places.....you can't dig here.
Neither quest gives that much information as to what to expect.
Thanks

The Thief Quest: The thief Sextant can be turned on and off so you choose if you want it activated. If it is on and you walk close to a hidden stealable the sextant will disappear. That is your first clue that you have revealed something. The second clue is - something that was not there now appears. Yes . . you have to be on your toes but most thieves are. If you run around too fast and don't pay attention you could easily miss something. One clue - if the sextant disappears and you did not notice the hidden item appear then try mousing over items. Most will not change colour but the stealables are not Static and should highlight yellow.
Willy Wegner the old Archeologist Quest: When you accept the quest, Willy Wegner the old Archeologist says to you "Thank you! Take this pack and look in the sand by the ruins."

Aha....thank you.....so it's possible the first sextant I had vanished because something was close and I had not used all its time/uses. Think I'll go back to the place it vanished. And I must have misread what Willy said. Thanks again

Just wanted to add what I recently learned about the bounty hunter quests.
When you get the bounty notice from the court in Yew, you go search the area and when you are within 40 tiles (approximately 3.25) screens away, your criminal will appear. Tracking can then be used to search for them (GM tracking searches roughly 4 screens away.
