Today has brought an update to the Bucephalus Steed which is primarily for warriors and are obtained by slaying a Bucephalus Guardian somewhere in the wilds of Tartarus to get a Bucephalus deed.
Sampires should enjoy this change. Here are the highlights of the new version:
1) They auto 'Bond' when their deed is used and they now take up 5 slots
2) They can be shrunken with a pet leach or hitching post to carry in your pack.
3) They can evolve up to 'Stage Six' At only 50,000 experience points gained quickly fighting 'Swammy' in the Arete swamp.
4) They are much more powerful than before although not as powerful as the greatest pets used by Tamers.
5) Owners can heal them with bandages, the Mage Heal spell or the Chivalry Close Wounds spell.
6) They begin life looking like a horse but at Stage Five you can apply Bard Armor using a Blacksmith crafter Bucephalus Barding Deed.
7) When the Bard Armor is applied they retain the Hue of the Ore Resource used by Blacksmiths to create the Barding Deed.
8) When you apply the Barding Deed at Stage Five the stallions change appearance to 'Charger of the Fallen' and the mares change appearance to Unicorns.
9) Once the Bard Armor is applied they will absorb damage done by monsters intended to hurt their rider.
10) If their owner is dismounted but within 2 paces from them, the Bucephalus steeds will heal their owners.
11) You can use the Arms Lore skill to see how much durability remains on their armor.
12) Once their Barded Armor wears out its effects are lost and their body shape returns to that of a normal horse. At that point (or before), apply another Blacksmith's Bucephalus Barding Deed.

A much needed update. The difference between the ones in the wild vs what you would get from the deed basically made them only useful in Trammel.
If a player is looking for the Bucephalus Steed they can check the area north of the Sacrifice Shrine or follow the road south from Yew Graveyard 'Tartarus only'
