After watching the disastrous fire in Lahaina . . well last night a wild fire struck near home. It began across the lake in the wilderness but spread quickly. By midnight it had burned down the mountain to the lake then jumped across into the northern part of our city. I can't tell at the moment but it looks like we may have lost two of the houses I used to live in. Meanwhile a lot of wild life has been displaced. |

Oh I am so sorry to read this news. Hopefully no loss of human life though like the tragedy on Maui :-(
Wildlife are remarkably resilient and often cope better than us when fires strike.
The main thing is that everyone is safe. I hope you and yours are during this awful time my dear friend.

Wildfires are unfortunate I had my experience with one in 2007.

Take care of yourself and be safe Thank you all for your good wishes. I (and my home and the server) are safe and fine although a good many people did not fare that well. Numerous homes and businesses were lost but the community is resilient and will recover. Now . . Hey Telchar! It is really nice to hear from one of our Veterans. You lived in our realm for a lot of years before the real world tugged you away. I would just like to say that you (like so many here) contributed a lot to the shard. You spurred many great ideas and events. I pray you (and yours) are well and especially . . happy. If your road ever winds back our way you are most welcome.
