While Champion spawns were never designed for individuals, to their credit some veteran players (with skill, tactics and patience) are able to persevere and win the day.
As many here know . . we moved the Champion Spawns on our shard to the outer islands of Malas. In doing so we created a quest that allows you to select which Champion you prefer. There is a post under our 'Quests' board regarding Champion Spawns under the heading 'Champions and the Harrower' that explains how this works.
We have tried to encourage group activity with Champs by adding a special reward that gets better and better when more and more players co-operate in the battle.
What has been missing (until now) was the ability of support players (in a group fighting Champs) to use the Justice Virtue on Malas to become 'Protectors' of others in the group and obtain Powerscrolls without needing to be 'directly' involved in the battle.
Today that has changed and players in a group fighting Champions on Malas can become 'Protectors' provided they are on the Virtue path of 'Justice'. They can use their 'Justice' virtue points to protect others in the battle and share in the final rewards without actually landing a blow. We hope this 'fix' will encourage more group activity in seeking the risk and reward of Champion battles.
* Oh . . and please be kind and clean up all remaining spawn after the main battle so the area is clean for the next group *
