Tank Tamer Template
Here's the taming build I've used to do all the content on this server. The goal for this setup is to survive most any encounter possible and to not be hamstrung when losing a pet. There are also plenty of quests that are quite difficult for a pet to survive on its own in, so having an alternative damage source (you, with spells) helps supplement the fact that there are quests where your pet will not be able to do too much work on its own.
Skills Template
Taming Skills
Animal Taming - 120
Animal Lore - 120
Spellcasting Skills
Magery - 120
Evaluate Intelligence - 120
Necromancy - 100
Spirit Speak - 120
Meditation - 120
Self-Defense Skills
Parrying - 100
Wrestling - 120
Resisting Spells - 120
Extra points are in Focus currently for a bit of extra stamina and mana regen. Also, notably, you don't have Inscription in this build for the extra spell damage. We trade that damage for more survivability, and you'll still hit for very high damage without it. Parrying and Wrestling are the core of why you're hard to kill, and Necromancy gives you Vampire Form to be immune to various poisons and boost your Mana and Stamina regen. Magery/Taming combo is the bulk of how you fight, and you'll use other various special spellbooks like
130 Taming/Lore is from Druid Cloak, gear will be explained below.
Gear Options
I'm not going to say there's a specific setup of gear you need to run, but your gear should, ideally, reach the caps for the following stats:
LRC - 100%
LMC - 40%
DCI - 75%
HCI - 75%
Mana Regen - Allegedly around 18-20 area, there's another thread out there but it's not hard to have high mana regen, lots of artis have it.
HP Increase - 175
FC/FCR - 6/8
Int, Dex, and Str are all able to hit 150 with some stat bonuses to fill out the stats that are not capped based on your character's base stats.
Other stats you want as much of as possible (In order of my personal priority preference):
SDI
Mana increase
Stamina increase
Luck
Stam Regen
HP Regen
Optionally, you may get to 100% reflect phys if you wish, but know that when you're taming it will make it harder to tame. You may want a backup set for taming without phys reflect so that you don't accidentally stop taming attempts by taking damage.
DCI and HCI are easy to cap, and it's good to have a bit over the cap for DCI in case of DCI being lowered. If you have a full set of artifact gear, you should be able to reach the caps easily and have enough room to increase the extras based on your preference. Stamina is important to have, however, for when you're in Tartarus - no stamina means you can't move, and some areas are TP locked so you can't cast teleport to escape bad situations.
Luck is nice for farming artifacts in specific areas. Regen in general is nice for keeping you from staying low on a resource for too long, but HP regen is a bit on the more useless side, in my opinion, unless you have a very high amount of it. You should also be healing yourself constantly regardless or have a dot heal up on yourself at most all times possible in more dangerous areas. It's also not possible to spellcraft the regens onto most of your pieces, unfortunately, so the amount you can stack with SDI gear is quite low.
SDI is the most important uncapped stat you're looking for, because it helps you hit hard and is pretty much mandatory for any of the most difficult quests in the game. Every piece you wear should have it, if possible. Currently my build has 269 SDI and I'm still missing a piece I'm aiming for.
My Gear Breakdown:
Head - Hat of the Magi
Earrings - Earrings of Red Magic
Ring - Ring of Red Magic
Bracelet - Bracelet of Red Magic
Necklace - Spellcrafted Gold Necklace
Chest Piece - Floriane Bustier
If you want optimal SDI, use Druid's Chest. I chose this for aesthetics at a 1% SDI loss.

Leggings - Druid Legs
Arms - Druid Arms
Gloves - Druid Gloves
Putting a SDI Gem into these gloves lowers the SDI for some reason.

Talisman - RNG Drop Talisman
This, admittedly, might be a pain to get depending on how lucky you are. The most important stat is SDI 15%.

Belt - Spellcrafted Tradisaur Leather Ninja Belt
Clothing
Robe - Lamia Shroud
Sash - Ordo Venatori Sash
Shirt - Challenge Tower Champion T-Shirt
Cloaks (2 to switch between) - Ordo Venatori Cloak and Druid Cloak
Important Druid Cloak Hidden Stats: +10 Animal Taming and Animal Lore, goes over the cap of 120.
Shoes - Ideally the sandals from the Hydra Quest. If you don't have these, just use mage sandals from the Red/White/Black Tower. They're easy to get and decent enough, no SDI tho.
They still have never dropped for me...
Mainhand and Shield

Mainhand and Shield
Mainhand - Medeis Incantatrix
Strong mainhand spellbook now and important spells to boot. Use slayer spellbooks as well, if you'd like.
Shield - Guardian's Crest
Putting a SDI gem into this lowers its SDI for some reason. I went with Mana instead.

For throwaway items that are common and easy to get, like necklaces or Hat of the Magis, feel free to try and make a perfect piece. I'm still searching for if there's a better SDI necklace slot item or not, have not found one better than a spellcrafted one yet.
If you'd like a Gucci-brand Hat of the Magi, let me know.
Important Quests to Do (WIP)
1. Medeis Incantatrix - Important for some niche spells, including a pet rez and some aoe burns. Costs Chanting Stones to cast, though.
2. Ancient Necromancy Spellbook - Very powerful spells, like a heal over time spell and the ability to banish demons.
3. Wicker Quests - For Druid Cloak and chance at druid gear pieces.
4. Ordo Venatori Quests - For SDI cloak and sash.
5. Lernaean Hydra Quest - For the off chance you get the SDI sandals

I can post other info if needed, want to post this at least for now and can resume later when I have time. If you have questions, let me know!
