I just joined the shard today and wanted to say hello to everyone. My first characters name is Tor Morgrim, but my real name is Eric.
I've been playing UO on and off since '99. I played on Chessy until Ilshenar was introduced, and left soon after. Then I played on a number of private shards, most of them rp based. About 2 years ago I returned to the Atlantic shard for about a year and a half, but things are soooo much different on the official shards now and I couldn't really justify paying for it any longer.
So, that put me in search of another private shard. I returned to one of the rp shards I used to frequent, but with my life now, I don't really have the time to commit to serious rp without the worry of letting people down if I'm not around for a while. That brought me to search out a more 'general' shard for lack of a better word, and I think I found it.
The reason I chose this shard? Most of the others provide players with unlimited skill pts, which to me sounds like a lot less fun. It may sound good at first, but I think it detracts from the challenge.
So expect some rp from my characters. In fact, it may be kind of difficult for me to get in the habit of NOT staying IC all the time.
In my real life, I'm a single old man with Peter Pan Syndrome who spends most of his free time working on graphic art projects and reading. Otherwise, I'm either working or at class working at an IT degree.
