As some have learned, a venture into the land of the Drow Elves can be a harrowing experience.
The Drow (dark elves) long ago drove the Greys (good elves) from the land of Heartwood. When this happened the entrance to Heartwood was close but a new entry has been discovered in the Trammel wasteland north of Papua.
Over the eons the Drow Heartwood grew and became a city surrounded by a dark forest where the Drow keep their special dragons.
Those who survived exploring this land deeper have reported many things:
1) The Drow Dragons (the Blacks and the Golds) may drop an egg from which a hatchling evolves into a splendid beast.
2) The Drow forest is also home to a witch who at times may take the form of a cat. If you slay her in her cat form the rewards are improved.
3) Creatures in the Drow land might drop a special ring bearing the 'Lolindir crest'. If you wear this ring the Drow assume you are one of them and do not attack.
4) Drow Berries may be found on the forest floor around the Drow city. If eaten while in the Drow land you will find yourself ported to the Drow land entry/exit.
5) At the foot of a Drow forest shrine there is an entrance to a darker area below the forest. In this area you can use Drow berries (100) to bribe a gate keeper for passage into the Den of the Drow Dark Father.
6) If this Dark Father is slain, his temporary corpse can hold a lot of treasure and now . . the Dark Father also has a good chance to drop an 'Elven Shroud of Invisibility'.
The 'Elven Shroud of Invisibility' is a wonderous robe with the ability to cloak the wearer under a blanket of invisibility. While under this blanket the hidden wearer can stealth around unlimited until the Shroud's power wanes (after a minute) and the veil is lifted. These Shrouds are special and can be used in many dangerous situations but their power is limited to 10 uses. You may wish to obtain more than one.
Cheers
