I have 2 questions about my new skill. It says I can control a Lesser Hiryu.
Does that mean I can or can't tame it myself?
Can I control 2 or more Lesser Hiryu or just 1. I have 0 taming but my Bushido is now at 100.

This is not something that we have tampered with and to be honest . . . until you asked, I had not heard of this before.
UOGuide.com says . . . "At 90 skill, it becomes possible to use Bushido in place of Animal Taming for the purpose of controlling and riding Lesser Hiryus."
This would indicate that with 100 Bushido skill you could actually tame these creatures as well as control them. That would be true on our shard as well provided it was not something that OSI had changed with UO during the past 5 to 8 years. Best way to find out is to test it but realize that even with Taming, creatures do not always bend to your will on the first or second try.

We all have 5 pet slots to start so if drink a pet slot potion to get more slots then maybe you could control more than one. I think each takes up 3 slots so you need to get to 6 slots to try it.

On the original servers, you could control lesser hiryus with high Bushido but need a tamer to tame it for you. You could definitely control more than 1 if you have the slots to do so (use one pet slot potion to hit 6 at least).

I need to find a friendly tamer. Or buy a Lesser Hiryu. I know what I used to sell Dragons and Nightmares for 15 years ago but what would be fair for a Lesser Hiryu in 2021 here?
I would be happy to go with them.
I assume they can be shrunk.

If they're exalted they can be shrunk, yea. I could grab you one or two for free if you like, they're easy tames.  |

Crossbreed; that is so nice of you. I don't have a pet slot potion yet but I'll do a search to find out about getting one.

Lesser hiryus are meant to be a mount for samurai, nothing more. you cannot heal them without vet and they do not bond normally. this system is not meant to be a workaround for taming, lesser hiryu is the most powerful mount a non tamer can own with a powerful bite and dismount special as well. this mount, requires alot of taming attempts but it is not meant for easy mount for samurai. every aspect is meant to be a challenge for a samurai to obtain thier ultimate mount, not necessarily keep it.
I agree with Amairgen that coding not be changed for bushido, that being said...
If it is possible to work around bonding issue... 100 herding will instabond any successfull tame attempt on this shard. and is alot quicker than feeding and waiting a week, and possibly not working at all.
if you are able to increase follower slots and herding works to bond them you may want to consider using a pure samurai warrior and add lore and vet to keep them viable for combat. you can allways drop herding once they are tamed/bonded
I do not know that bushido will allow you to tame an exhaulted version, I have not tried with my samurai, I do not think the mechanics for taming are the same for bushido, so it may not be possible.
