I started playing UO the day it opened on the Great Lakes Shard.
I started playing Everquest the day it opened on Veeshan.
I lost interest in PvP when they itemized the items and accepted scripting. In short it was and is (my opinion) no longer Player vs Player, it is Scripting+Appliances vs Scripting+Appliances.
I left UO because I could no longer believe / buy into their direction (EA/Mythic).
I have tried several RUNUO shards and aside from the ones that folded, most seem to be either PvP centric or ANTI Tamer.
In UO (original) I played the Tank Mage. Post that era, I play a Tamer/Hide/Stealth optionally Archer optionally Peacer.
I am always a Hide/Stealther. I do not, on my own accord, run into the fight uninformed, unprepared etc. I do use Stealthing to allow me to become informed and prepared.
I am looking for a shard to be with, were community is important, tolerance of others and their play style is important. Were things are hard, not just to be hard *Caugh* but hard to bring value to the experience. As far as the invalid concept of beating UO or Everquest or any MMORPG, I have beaten then and it is pointless to. For me it is not the reaching the Goal (Beating the game) it is the path, the experience that makes the effort worth while.
I have worked with computers (as in my chosen profession) all my adult life.
