We have a new Quest now running known as 'The Weird Island of Dr. Moreau'.
This quest was inspired by the book and the movie by the same name. It will remain running all year even though its Spooky nature fits well with the Halloween season. If you are not familiar with 'The Island of Dr. Moreau' then here is a Wikipedia link for the back story . . . --> en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Island_of_Doctor_Moreau <--
This quest begins on Ilshenar where the Taneleer the specimen collector has his sailboat moored on the shore by a small desert village.
Talk to Taneleer and he might help you get onto 'Ipecacuanha' a cargo ship bound for the Island of Dr. Moreau.
The Ipecacuanha is skippered by Captain Trask who is a grouchy old seaman not happy to have passengers. You can look around the ship and talk to other passengers but in the end it is Captain Trask who will put you on a tinder headed to Dr. Moreau's Island.
On the tinder you could spend days struggling against the prevailing winds or maybe talk to Hanson the tinder's helmsman. He needs to get the tinder's cargo to the Island but he can summon a Gate for any who do not have days to spend afloat.
If you arrive safely on the Island you should look for Dr. Moreau and consider helping him find Cadaver parts for his experiments. If his chores are too difficult or not of interest then do may use a Travel Stone at the port to leave the Island.
Succeeding with Dr. Moreau's request will be a challenge but his reward for you is generous and other nice things that drop your way make up for the effort involved.
Notes:
1) This quest is not easy.
2) If you accept the quest then Taneleer will not give it again for 4 hours.
3) If a you accept the quest then you will need to complete it within 3 hours.
4) The quest can be done solo or with friends but only one person in the party can accept the quest.
5) Your Player Quest Journal also contains this information for use in-game.
6) This information has also been added to our Quest Board here for future reference.
Cheers
