Hey,
Just a quick one. Some of you may or may not have noticed my recent absence from the shard. Just to say that this isn't voluntary but my laptop had died & my only other computer is a Mac & I don't have the technological know-how to set up Ultima on there if it's possible.
Not sure how long I'll be away for but I miss ya'll.
P.s poor fishies. 🤣

Ouch . .sorry to hear about your computer. Yes running UO on a Mac is not straightforward but apparently possible. I hear you about 'technological know-how' but in case it is better than mine (or if you find someone who has it), you may be interested in this link (if not seen before). www.uoguide.com/Ultima_Online_on_a_MacGood luck my friend. You may want to do what we do, which is buy refurbished HP EliteBook laptops from sellers on eBay or Newegg for less than $300 or so. Business machines are rugged.

Hey all!
Just another update. Finally got around to sorting out my laptop. Yay!
I'll need to redownload the shard files so will do that this evening and hopefully see you all very soon again!
Ps. I'm still have some issues with my laptop randomly not wanting to connect to the wifi and I'm not sure what's going on with it but once it's connected it's usually ok until I shut down the laptop.

Good news. Will be fun to see your death cries ringing out over the land again. *just kidding* The Halloween stuff will all roll out this week. We already have one new related quest now started from just outside the Bloodletters Guild building in Umbra on Malas. 'Grimhildr the Unhallowed' will offer you a random chance to meet Norman Bates or Michael Myers or Freddy Kreuger or Agho'r the Cold-Hearted. I will also have another new quest starting this week - 'The Island of Dr. Moreau' that was inspired by the movie (( here is a Wikipedia link for some background if you do not know the story -> en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Island_of_Doctor_Moreau )) And . . . the grave yards will come to life *death* along with the Haunted House and the Umbra Maze house. All good seasonal fun. Cheers |
