Hey,
I keep getting a LOT of client crashes recently & i'm not sure what causes them. I was wondering if any of you more tech savvy folk might be able to give me some insight into why this happens?
Typically they happen when i recall to somewhere new but sometimes it just seems random...
Cheers, Cal

I my self have seen that happen on occasion if I am recalling into an area with a ton of monsters/NPCs like the center of Papua or into an area with many large houses and a ton of Deco. I had to remark my Papua recall rune to the edge of town then walk in allowing my Client to load things as then came rather than choking on the whole lot at once.
It is also possible there was a choke point at the Server/Router itself. To clear that (if it existed) I just rebooted the Server's Host computer as well as the Router used to open the Server to the world.
Hope this info helps.

Hey,
Thanks very much for the insight!
It's been happening quite a bit to me for the past few days but mostly only while I've been macroing skills (only a few times when loading new area - although that's been when it's happened in the past), so i'm more inclined to think it's my end. I've restarted everything & added extra delays in my razor macros so hopefully this will sort it out.

Just this moment . . the Internet dropped for about 3 minutes. Seems we may have a bird sitting on the wire somewhere in our area.

Ooh, we're both not having the best luck with it today! Good to know that disconnect wasn't just me again though!

No issues at all today. I'm guessing you scared the bird away?

I’ve been having a lot of trouble as well. I’ve been wanting to go questing, but I’m afraid that in the middle of fighting monsters UO will shut off on me as it has the past couple of days or so, multiple times.

There have been various issues with the Internet lately. I have noticed it as well. I have rebooted the Server and the Router a few times over the past few days but that does not seem to solve the issue. It seems to happen during certain periods of the day . . probably when all the Covid Isolaters are home surfing.

Yeah, to be honest, it's a welcome break for me to think about how i'm gonna build this house haha. I did a quick version & pretty sure i hate it. Although I think i've figured out some of the challenges now for a joined house so hopefully the next design will be better & easier. I am sooo not creative though - I just wish i was.
I'm sure the period will pass & it'll run smoothly again in no time!

I didn’t have problems today, which I am thankful for because UoT is by far the best shard out there.

I was thinking there might be a bug, because I was booted from the game 3 times the other day. Each time it happened I was in Papua. Hopefully this provides some sort of a lead.

Did it happen when you recalled in or when you walked in from the woods?
I was getting dropped when recalling in to Papua centre so finally set up a Recall Rune for the edge of town.
The problem with recalling right into Papua itself is the number of NPCs and Townhomes etc etc all within a fairly tight area. It can be too much data for your client to swallow all at one time.

I used the carriage in Arete to get there. It happened twice while I was talking to an NPC about a quest, and once just outside of town while fighting. All three times it didn’t happen right away; it took a couple of minutes before it shut down on me.
