I have done the quest 3 times and i still cant open the book to see what spells it has in it. The first quest gave me and empty book, second quest- he puts one spell in book, third quest he puts another spell in book and gives me a piece of his armor and its vulnerable too. Does the book have to be full in order to see or use the spells in it?

For the Cleric Book you need to say the words "I pray to the gods"

For the Necro Book you need to say the words "I summon the spirits"

Those words open the book menus

Another good thing to add is that with these books, when the spellbook is full of spells you can type "[spellname" without quotations and the spells name without spaces in place of spellname in order to cast the chosen spell.
This helps when macroing the spells in these books. Unaware if it's the same for other custom spellbooks though.
