I don't have a clue what it's used for... but I did the Blacksmith quest now that I'm a Legendary smith and that was all I got was the "essence of love"
I can tell you I wasn't feeling it!

Oh yeah I'm sure everything is used for something... I just started with Blacksmithing as that's the only "crafting" skill I ever did on OSI.
