Was exploring for funsies and found something rather majestic on tartarus. Never seen an ostard like it. Definitely gonna make sure I come back and tame one once I get my taming up high enough.
Anyone know anything about them?

Heya, Don't know what you're referring to, but it sounds interesting. Any hint on a location so I could check it out? *Edit* I was curious enough to go looking for the beast, and I found one. With a sample size of one, I couldn't say what kind of Stat ranges it has, this one had 300 health, 200 stam, 10 mana, 350 str, 200 dex, 10 int. And the one I found wasn't Exalted so I'm unsure if they can be. If its anything like the Ice steeds and it looks like they are, they can't be exalted. It doesn't have any magery skills or fire breath. But its base physical damage is huge sitting at 31-47 as a 1 slot pet, freshly tamed with 80 wrestling it was attacking for roughly 60-90 damage a hit. Looks like it could be a strong mount to ride for a bit of extra damage with a dragon tank, less health than the Ice Steeds for sure, but 1 less pet slot. But this being one of the only pets I've seen with Pack Instincts (even fire steeds have had it stripped) If you where to get 8 of these, my guess is you'll be doing more damage than Phil Swift.

Interesting. Seems there is always something that might need a touch. Not suggesting anything at the moment and not even on my 'To Do List'. Lets see if is becomes problematic or not. If not I would prefer to leave it alone.

probably the tartarus version of a frenzied. What is Phil Swift and what is the best pet, cuz it seems like mobs got beefed up and pets were forgotten OR pets were lowered and now having a pet to fight for you isnt worth it cuz they cant kill the medium tough mobs and no chance on the really tough ones. The pets need to be improved. I like the option to use pets and others do too, it sucks training a supposed great pet only to find out it cant kill hardly anything even with you healing it. I started to train a Drow, it took a few hours to get it to 600k exp but it still needs 7.1 million more to max it, which probably means 20+ more hours and if it is worthless after all that effort, I would be so mad.

Drows Range from 2000 Health up to 3000 I've seen stam and mana neer 1000 still I know how you feel seeing your pet go down like a mongbat when fighting an exalted version of itself -_-
By no means is any tamable or combination of tamables better than what a solo player can do. I've found a few real nasty pets that can actually do somthing but they still lack what's needed to fully rely on them.

Yes, seems you found them. They were quite interesting, I'm surprised no one really knew about them! They do have some crazy numbers but the tankiest one I've seen so far was around 600 hp and their resistances are very low. With a player to tank or another pet they could be very nice for sure.

I checked out the area you told me about Crossbreed. And yeah, that is a far better place to find these Ostards. In the area there was roughly 15-20 of them, I ran around and used Animal Lore on them, and all but one of them where 270-310 hitpoints, but the "one of them" was 700 hitpoints. So as most creatures do, they have some powerful exceptions, however rare.
I spent some time and tamed 8 of them to test out for damage in the Arete training pits. The damage is indeed high, each of them hitting for roughly 190-250 per attack on the tier 3 training creature. But keep in mind these are unarmoured targets getting hit by full physical. I'd like to test them on something tougher, but I'm sure the ones I have will be killed with their low amount of health, and with them unbonded would be an exercise in futility.
But I can point out managing 8 of thease beasts with them declining every other command, even at 120 taming and lore will sure be a hassle in combat, and probably lead them to dying well more than they would otherwise.
