So this post is in reference to the Elven Windsong bow and the current chance drop rate. From what I'm being told, the Elven Windsong bow is equivalent to the Norbert's Little Axe. If this is the case, why is it so much easier to get the Norberts versus the Elven Windsong? The Norbert's can be selected from an Artifact deed that's rewarded from the White Witch quest. So every time you complete that quest you could select one as a reward, whereas the Windsong is a random drop on the Gwydion quest. I was wondering if the current drop rate could be changed so that there is a better chance to get the bow. I've done this quest more than 30 times and just now only got my second bow.
All those in favor say AYE! lol

is the "elven windsong" not the same as a "windsong", i only have gotten the regular windsong so i dont know the difference. What is the reason to use an artifact deed on a regular item or what does an artifact deed do?

Yes the Elven Windsong is a different bow compared to the regular Windsong bow. It's an artifact obtained only by chance/random drop on the Elven Windsong quest when you defeat Gwydion. It has some pretty nice properties and then once you have a total of 8, you can combine them, add Ancient Gems and enhance it using spellcrafting to get a pretty kick ass bow. There are artifact deeds and artifact tokens...I should have been more clear. The artifact token that you receive as a reward on the White Witch quest allows you to hand pick an artifact of your choice and on the list are some pretty nice artifacts (basically the most sought after artifacts for end game gear/weapons). The regular artifact deeds have a smaller list of items to choose from which consists of most of your low end easy to get artifacts that most people don't use end game and still you need multiples of whatever you choose to combine them to the Vanquishing/Invulnerable level.
I don't mind that the Norbert's is easy to get because lets face it you need that bad boy to tank a lot of the world here. I'd just like to see some equality and diversity here.....There are enough axe swingers in the land lol. This just goes back to the feeling of having/being forced to conform to one template and the use of one set of gear/weapons. Or settle for doing the same 5 quests over and over again or traveling the same 3 dungeons over and over again lol. Maybe that's why I've noticed that so many here go on hiatus....I guess to make things feel new again when they return hehe.

I agree we need better diversity for end game gear. and increasing the droprate for one item won't be enough. Norberts stand out atribute is it's base damage of 25-28 so this combined with the hatchet's Armor Ignore ability makes for one heavy hitter. From what I remember the finished windsong is 22-24 but it's been a while since Amairgen first showed me the bow. and i've only obtained 4 pieces sofar.
We really need to look into Runic tools and have some changes made so they can create weapons and gear equal if not just a step below what a finished artifact would be.

The quest was introduced August 22th 2017 and I was able to complete it in December. So 4 months and around 150 tries. I agree on the fact we deserve more diversity, definitely. But high end objects, because here we are speaking of final objects deserve real investments. For example I am in favor to remove the Norbert's axe from the reward of the With Witch. Getting a Norbert's require around 60/80 towers maybe we can align the same drop rate for the windsong? As a side notes: the Windsong is not yet in the spellcraftable item list basic damage ore "only" 21-22 but you have velocity 25% as a mod (It can be described as a reverse of the Harm spell. For every tile away your opponent is, +1 damage is added if a shot hits with Velocity. So if you opponent is 2 tiles away they can be hit with 2 extra damage from a Velocity strike. www.uoguide.com/Velocity) you can see it in the Etzebeth's hands in my house My 2 cents, Yhaguen.

I'm all for high end objects needing some kind of investment; to a degree. If we want folks to stick around here and the player base to grow, we need some kind of balance. Most MOBs here are on the high end which require high end gear to compete. So to make that investment require months and for some people years to achieve (depending on game time invested), is a bit much. I have saved all of my crates from doing that particular quest just to see how long its going to take....I had 2 bows and I'm already in the high 30's (memory from last crate count). If you're constantly getting slaughtered because you don't have said gear, you get frustrated and throw in the towel. There is a difference between challenge and shear ridiculousness. So I guess the happy medium would be to take Alk's suggestion and look at crafting for an answer if you aren't going to change the MOBs or the drop rate. This way the newer folks have something to get them through until they are able to obtain said end game items. And as far as changing the Norbert's drop rate, why change it now? Everyone already has it, so we would only be hindering those that don't, or the newcomers.

My intentions for opening up these discussions is to benefit all, old and new. I love it here, from the community to the content and even Amairgen (you couldn't ask for a better administrator). When I first started here I was told the player base is low and occasionally peaks and then falls back off....Well why does it fall back off? I can't think of any server that offers more than Traditions, so why would anyone want to leave? Yea, some go on hiatus because lets face it we all still have lives (well except maybe me, all I do is play this game lol). I would like to see those that leave; to stay. Most people don't voice their opinions because these are all free shards; which means no real investment, so pick up and move on if you don't like it, right? Not true. We all know Amairgen is open for discussion; input, suggestions and advice. So lets all help him to make Traditions even better. Amairgen; I'm sure has a huge list of "to-do's", but I think finding this balance is the most important.

My prop was to align the drop rate same as the Norbert, and maybe keeping the same drop rate for potential additions, to 60/80 tries. It double what you already got, and the colddown is 6 hours so less then 1 month for hard core players and around 3 months for a casual. This seems pretty good from my point of view.
About the Withe Witch yes it is difficult. Amair knows I was against this quest since the beginning. For an armor set it works: 6 parts, 8 runs per parts, 2 months for a full set with the 24h coldown. For a weapon, 8 runs for a final drop it is too low. and I said 'yes it is difficult' because for the one retrieving the Norbert's like this it was a big up but can we let as is the system? I think we have to stop it anyway regardless what was granted since October. Lost & found.
Last topic from my side today, what is the best approach, create new items aligned with the Axe and the Bow (A/B) and keep the 42 other deprecated or re-align the A/B to the value of the 42 others? Basically I vote for the nerf to balance the whole stuff.
Yhaguen.

Much longer than a month for Windsong, I have done the quest about 2-3x a day for over a span of about a month and a half when I was playing hardcore, upwards towards the 100th time and I myself have only acquired 2 bows out of the 8 needed.
