It seems that sometimes mousing over an item floods your screen with unwanted text and clutter, or that the text you are looking for is cut off by the bottom of the screen. There are fixes for these issues in the options menu, this guide will help you get the most out of the tool tip info without losing control of your screen or missing the information you want at a moments notice.
This information is located in the INTERFACE tab of the OPTIONS menu you access by clicking on the OPTIONS BUTTON on your paperdoll. the interface tab is the one that looks like a mouse it is located in the upper right corner of the options menu.
Once in the interface menu, scroll down to ITEM PROPERTIES DISPLAY MODE, the following options are selectable by clicking the button next to the option you prefer.
At Icon option... This option requires checking the display item properties icon box just below the last of the 4 options mentioned above. This option will put an interface icon that looks like a mouse on your play window, like a spell icon that you can place and move anywhere on screen that you want. This is where all information and item properties will be displayed, so it will no longer be at the pointer, or the item you are trying to view.
Always Up option... Like the Item Properties Icon it can be placed anywhere in the viewable area of your screen, it is however the dialog box itself that is always open that displays the information of the item you are trying to see. This option takes up more space when not needed, but you don't have to select the display item properties icon box for it to work.
Follow Mouse option... Is the default setting, some of us are most frustrated with. It provides the information at the mouse pointer whenever the pointer encounters an object that it can interact with, or has a description and properties.
Single Click option... Displays information for an extended period of time at the location of the mouse pointer upon single left clicking the item you want info on, this option is best if you only want information you have to actively request, by clicking for it. Note that once clicked the information will be displayed for a few moments and the dialog box is not movable so it will be in view until it fades on its own.
At this time there are no other property controls for the display of information or duration of displayed information.
I hope this helps, feel free to post requests on any other in game options you would like explained
