Lots here so we thought it might be best for a full recap.
The 'Enhanceable' Artifacts have long been a part of our world and evolved as we learned more about them. For those in the realm who walk a dangerous path, well enhanced and crafted Artifacts can make the difference between life or death and wealth or poverty.
1) They can be obtained by slaying:
- Champions
- Tradian monsters on the facet of Tartarus
- Quest bosses and other evil wanderers
2) They can be obtained from:
- Dungeon chests
- Buried treasure chests
- Sunken treasure chests
3) Specific ones can be obtained by giving 'Medallions of Courage' to Artie the Curator in the Britain King's castle or from 'Random' artifact deeds dropped as loot.
When these artifacts are found (Armor, Shields, Weapons or Jewellery) they appear in their lowest basic form (Armor of Guarding or Weapons of Might etc). Using Artifact Tomes created by a Scribe, citizens can 'Enhance' these basic artifacts to better and better quality with improved and widely varying properties.
The 'Enhancement' process requires certain materials acquired with the help of Miners and Tinkers and when you are pleased with the result, a Spellcrafter can tailor the artifacts further to meet specific needs.
They can be used with great result or traded or sold to other citizens or to Artie's twin brother Arti (an Antiquities Dealer) found in the Vesper Artifact house (across the river from Vesper).
Arti loves enhanceable Atifacts and for them he will offer you a Moongate to rewarding adventure or he will buy them using Tradium coins. His offers to buy may not be full price but they are a good way to unload and increase your Tradium holdings. Here is a schedule of his offerings:
Armor:
Guarding ...... 2,000
Hardening ..... 5,000
Fortified ...... 10,000
Invulnerable .. 20,000
Shields:

Note: While you are visiting Arti the Antiquities Dealer in the Vesper Artifact house you might want to enter the Moongate just inside the front door to look around the Artifact Display field. It will give you some idea of what the Armor artifacts can become as they are enhanced (similar improvements happen to Shields, Weapons and Jewellery).
