Hello,
From a long time we are discussing about the regeneration rates. Are they capped or not? And if they are really capped, is the caps in Traditions are the same then the ones provided into the UOGuide?
To define a bit what the regeneration rates are: This mechanism is based on a 10-second period of time and is able to restore Hit points, Stamina & Mana. You have separate values for each of those pools. As an example, if you have +10 Stamina regen on your equipment, you'll regen 1 Stamina point every seconds. For 18 Mana regen, you'll regenerate 1.8 Mana points every seconds and so on.
To answer these questions I'll start from my basic assumption that Traditions is following UOGuide information:
- "The maximum useable Hit Point Regeneration rate is capped at 18." www.uoguide.com/Hit_Point_Regeneration
- "Stamina Regeneration is capped at 24" www.uoguide.com/Stamina_regeneration
- "18 MR cap for equipment" and "The total Mana Regeneration from equipment is capped at 30" www.uoguide.com/Mana_Regeneration (MR means Mana Regeneration)
As you can see, the Mana regen rate is not clear and if you have a look on the link, the formula is quite complex:
So I put in place a test procedure to measure values.
Test Procedure:
Tests was done on my warrior. I increased my equipment regeneration rates upper the the supposed caps to ensure to be able to have a significant increase in case of.
- Hit point regeneration 24
- Stamina regeneration 27
- Mana regeneration 23
I created a macro to gear / ungear to reduce my pools.
when I am fully geared up, I start a chrono and take a screen shot on a same time.
I take a second screen shot after 10 seconds to fix the results. Even with my Jedi reflexes I repeat the operation 3 times to ensure values accuracy
Test Results:
Conclusion:
Things are crystal clear in Traditions for both Hit point and stamina regeneration rates. Those values follow the UOGuide:
- Hit point regeneration is capped to 18
- Stamina regeneration is capped to 24
About the Mana regeneration only one thing is clear: 18 is not the cap and if there is a cap it is more then that. 30 like the other value suggested by UOGuide? As this value is key for Mages, I'll made some specific tests to better understand the limit of this regen capability.
Safe travels,
Yhaguen.

Mana reg (per second) = 0.2 +
Focus/200 +
(1 or 1.1 if meditation>=100)*(Meditation*3/400+Int/400)*(0 for nonmedi armor 1 for medy armor or 2 if active meditation) +
((Meditation/2+Focus/4)*1/90*0.65+2.35)*(sqrt(ManaReg from items)-1) + 1/10 sqrt(ManaReg from items) is caped 5.5 so Mana regs from items is capped at 30
