the pets dont move while attached to the post, except the drake's wings move occasionally, and since the pets dont move, they shouldnt cause a lag or would they?

This thread may not be the place for it . . more like a suggestion . . but: 1) a good suggestion and 2) why move it in the middle of a thought *grins*
So . . two questions arise: 1) what is a reasonable limit? 5? or 6? or 7? or 8? (somehow 8 seems plenty but I am open - Peeps could always buy more posts) 2) Should we allow all Shrinkable pets to be 'Parked' as well? (No real reason not to if we have a limit)
*ears to the ground*

I cant decide how many, 3000 or 4000 sounds good. Nah, 8 sounds like enough unless someone wants to have a zoo or a museum.

1) No need to have shrinkable pets be allowed since this was the whole reason for the post to begin with
2) Limit one post per house
3) I'll leave the experienced tamers to discuss pet slot max on post.

There should most likely be a limit, but then you have the issue of what if someone has more than one post and if that extends the limit, etc. If someone wanted to keep a full herd of the ostards that'd be 8 slots right there.. it might get rough potentially but that really depends on what the server can manage. I like this idea but this is a very good point that was brought up. I think a limit is important and it really comes down to server capacity and how much stress it puts on the server overall. I do however like that if I was to make a zoo in-game to go along with the taming guide I could post these pets for people to see Shrinkables have no reason to be put on the post, so would be likely keep them from being posted on there. I think 8 would be a good number for the cap.

Lord Hart has gone on vacation until a solution surfaces and this gets resolved. *should not take a long time* I will look into scripting an 8 at any one time limit as well as limiting the Pet Posts to one per account. Cheers

if u are worried about lag and pets, in front of Arete crafthall, there is a packhorse by entrance that has been there since i started playing, at least 5 months and hasnt moved, then further from entrance are 4 packhorses named two, three, four and five that have been there for over a month, and across from them is Chei's chicken and she hasnt been on for a month or so. Also in Arete at the northwest corner of the castle area is a packhorse that i saw there over a month ago. Also a packhorse in Trammel, west of Britain, in the cottonfield has been there for at least 5 months or more.

Crossbreed's points are all valid. He is not worried . . only expressing valid server considerations. Trolling is not required.
In the end I will determine what makes sense regarding the Pet Posts. I am aware of pets that are sitting quietly awaiting their master's return.
As long as they are not: - numerous or - stranded in awkward areas that inhibit other players or - placed somewhere out of 'Village Idiot' (look at me look at me) intent then I am okay to allow a valid account to have them available. If the owner does not return within the allowable 'Logged Out' time then they will be removed.
I am locking this thread because it has gone beyond the 'News' purpose for which it was intended.
